Dr. Heidi Semanie was born and raised in Massachusetts. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Vermont in Biological Sciences, with minor degrees in English and Anthropology.
She worked as a Paramedic in the Boston metro area and was a member of the Gulf Disaster Response Team in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Working with such limited and rudimentary supplies dramatically shifted her understanding of the therapeutic relationship, which inspired her to move to Seattle and attend Bastyr University.
There she earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Semanie did her clinical training at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health and its many outreach clinics.
Her specialized training includes Pain Mangement, HIV and immune wellness, biofeedback, IV therapy, visceral manipulation, and minor surgery. She also sought additional mentorship and advanced training in spinal and extremity manipulation, hormone therapies, women’s health, and craniosacral therapy.
While on the island of Oahu, Dr. Semanie provided primary care at a wellness retreat as well as in office and at home visits. She received additional training and experience while assisting an ND/midwife with women’s health, pregnancy and post partum care, home births, and early life care.
